Wrong Music is absurdist, hyperactive underground electronics: breakcore, toy sounds, gabber, chip noise, prank sampling, cartoon violence, amateur chaos and deliberately bad taste. It treats wrongness as a method, making tracks that are funny, aggressive and technically overloaded at the same time. The style prizes collision: rave speed, bedroom absurdity, meme logic, noise-show energy and anti-serious presentation all pushed past normal good taste.

History

The term centers on the Bristol/Brighton-linked Wrong Music event and label scene associated with Shitmat, DJ Scotch Egg and friends. It grew out of breakcore, rave mutation, noise shows and grassroots electronic absurdism in the early 2000s. The scene's attitude mattered as much as its BPM: anti-serious, anti-slick, communal and gleefully perverse, with Game Boys, mashups and joke concepts turned into real performance energy.
