Wave is internet-born bass music that blends trap percussion, future garage space, vaporwave haze, grime/dubstep low end, and cyberpunk melancholy. Tracks often move at half-time with gliding Reese bass, washed-out pads, distant vocal fragments, and neon lead melodies rather than festival-trap impact. It is atmospheric and emotional, but the drums still hit with bass-scene precision.
History
Wave coalesced around online communities, SoundCloud, Wavemob, Liquid Ritual, Terrorhythm, and Plastician's radio support in the mid-2010s. Early names such as Klimeks, Kareful, Sorsari, Skit, Plastician, and Ofdream defined the hazy template, while Skeler, Deadcrow, Juche, and Brothel pushed it toward larger, darker, and more polished forms. The scene remained decentralized but influential, feeding hardwave, cyber trap, future garage revival, and moody bass playlists.
