History
Growing from late-60s art schools and glam circa 1971-72, UK art rock was defined by David Bowie's reinventions and Roxy Music's stylised glamour. Brian Eno's solo and ambient work pushed it toward electronics, influencing post-punk and new wave. Its experimental-yet-melodic ethos shaped decades of British alternative and synth-driven pop.
