Faith-centered trap built for praise: booming 808s, rattling hi-hats and melodic synths under worshipful, often Auto-Tuned vocals testifying about God, redemption and spiritual struggle. It borrows mainstream trap's sonics wholesale but aims them at scripture, with anthemic, congregational hooks. Devotional in content, fully modern in sound.

History

As Christian hip-hop modernized in the mid-2010s, Atlanta's Reach Records crew adopted trap production wholesale, fusing radio-ready 808 beats with worship lyricism. Lecrae, KB and Andy Mineo led the charge, and a younger wave including 1K Phew and Hulvey (whose "Altar," with Forrest Frank, went Gold) pushed faith-based trap onto Billboard's Christian charts and streaming through the early 2020s.
