History
From Eno’s early tape-looped keyboards through Steve Roach’s deep-space architecture, Suzanne Ciani’s Buchla lyricism, and later artists who fused modular, digital, and analog methods, synth ambient became one of the genre’s central languages. Its durability lies in the synthesizer’s natural fit with gradual transformation: it can hold still for minutes, bloom in microscopic degrees, and suggest immense scale without needing song structure.
