Swancore
Located in 1 route
Swancore is a technical, melodic post-hardcore lane associated with Will Swan's guitar style and the Blue Swan Records orbit. The sound features nimble clean guitar runs, high-register riffs, funk and math-rock motion, alternating clean/screamed vocals, bright production and sudden shifts between sweetness and chaos. It is more ornate and playful than classic post-hardcore, with virtuosity used for bounce and color rather than prog seriousness.
History
Dance Gavin Dance became the anchor, especially through Will Swan's guitar vocabulary and the Sacramento scene around related bands and side projects. Hail the Sun, A Lot Like Birds, Sianvar, Royal Coda, Secret Band, Eidola and Wolf & Bear extended the style through technical drumming, theatrical vocals and hyper-melodic guitar interplay. Swancore remains a niche but highly recognizable internet-era post-hardcore microgenre, with a fanbase built around musicianship, memes, vocal personalities and scene interconnections.
