Swamp Roots Rock

Swamp Roots Rock is humid, rolling, and darkly funky, with blues-country guitar, Southern groove, bayou imagery, and vocals that sound half-sung, half-grown from the mud. It is swampier and more groove-dependent than most other Americana rock forms.
History
Tony Joe White and CCR are the most obvious reference points, but later acts kept the swamp texture alive by mixing roots rock with Gulf-Coast atmosphere. The result is music that feels damp even on a perfectly dry speaker.
