Shoegaze fused with space rock's cosmic drift: drone-anchored repetition, krautrock pulse, and effects-saturated guitars stretched into vast interstellar washes. Mantric two-chord vamps unfold over minutes, feedback hums like radio static from deep space, and reverb suggests endless distance — meditative, narcotic and untethered from gravity or song form.
History
Emerged from the early-'90s overlap of Spacemen 3's drone-rock lineage and the shoegaze scene. When Spacemen 3 split in 1991 into Spectrum and Spiritualized, both carried the sound forward; Flying Saucer Attack's 'rural psychedelia' and Loop's hypnotic repetition defined the crossover, linking shoegaze to the broader space-rock revival.
