Southern Country Rock

Southern country rock thickens country rock with boogie, blues, longer guitar lines, and a stronger regional drawl. It often features twin or triple guitars, sturdier backbeats, and a road-band looseness that feels born in clubs rather than studios.
History
While country rock emerged strongly in California, southern bands gave the hybrid a denser, more blues-informed body. Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Outlaws, BlackBerry Smoke, and later Whiskey Myers and similar bands carried country phrasing into a distinctly southern-rock performance culture.
