Doctrine set to rhyme: verses expound Bible passages and theological themes line by line, packing dense, citation-heavy lyricism over spare, sermon-like boom-bap. Often Reformed in bent, it treats the track as exposition or catechism. Production stays restrained so the teaching carries; the bars are the lecture, the beat the lectern.
History
Anchored by Shai Linne and Lamp Mode Recordings, whose 'The Atonement' (2008), 'The Attributes of God' (2009) and 'Lyrical Theology' (2013) turned systematic theology into rap. Bizzle's 'God Over Money' (2012) sharpened the polemic strain, and a wider Reformed-leaning scene made verse-by-verse scriptural exposition its calling card.
