Scout / Camp Songs are the practical song-leader repertoire of group youth programs: repeat-after-me chants, closing songs, hiking songs, friendship songs, silly skits, grace songs and rounds. Many are less like commercial songs than tools for organizing attention, filling transitions and building group identity. History

Scouting, YMCA/YWCA camps, church camps and school camps developed huge oral repertoires that traveled through leaders rather than record charts. Songs such as "Make New Friends," "Ging Gang Gooli," "Barges," "Taps" and countless repeat-after-me chants became camp standards. Some lyrics have been revised or retired as communities reconsider stereotypes and exclusions, but the core practice of song-led belonging remains central to camp culture.
