History
Schlager has anchored German-speaking pop since the postwar era, but its modern pop revival arrived via Helene Fischer, whose 2013 smash 'Atemlos durch die Nacht' fused dance-pop with Schlager warmth. Andreas Gabalier added alpine-rock flavor; the genre became one of Germany's most popular, filling stadiums across the DACH region into the 2020s.
