Scene Electronic

Scene Electronic is the Myspace-era collision of neon synths, emo haircuts, crunkcore attitude, electropop hooks, electronicore breakdowns, and pop-punk/emo presentation. It includes both party-rap electro acts and bands that fused post-hardcore or metalcore with rave synths. The production can be crude and the lyrics often intentionally obnoxious, but the style matters because it gave later internet pop a template for maximal self-branding, synthetic vocals, and genre shamelessness.
History
Scene electronic grew through Myspace, Warped Tour, mall-emo fashion, crunkcore, and early electronicore. 3OH!3, Breathe Carolina, I See Stars, Attack Attack!, Enter Shikari, Brokencyde, Millionaires, Dot Dot Curve, Cash Cash, Metro Station, The Medic Droid, Cobra Starship, The Ready Set, Jeffree Star, and Blood on the Dance Floor all sit somewhere in the messy ecosystem. Hyperpop later reclaimed parts of the sound, especially its trashy synths, bratty vocal style, compressed mixes, and internet-first identity performance.
