Robot Electro is electro's explicitly mechanical branch: vocoders, android voices, computer concepts, stiff basslines, and synth melodies that foreground machines as characters. It can be playful, futuristic, dystopian, or deadpan, but it always makes the robotic surface part of the hook. The style links Kraftwerk's Mensch-Maschine image to electro-funk, Detroit techno, and modern electro revival.

History

Kraftwerk supplied the foundational robot mythology, while early electro producers turned that image into street-dance and club language. Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force, Cybotron, Man Parrish, Newcleus, Egyptian Lover, World Class Wreckin' Cru, Dopplereffekt, Aux 88, Anthony Rother, DMX Krew, and Drexciya each built machine identities into the music. Robot Electro remains a durable signal for sci-fi funk, vocoder hooks, and human-machine dance tension.
