Ragga jungle is jungle at its most dancehall-connected: ragga vocals, soundclash energy, chopped Amen breaks, dub sirens, and massive subs. It is one of the clearest demonstrations that UK dance music history cannot be understood without Caribbean influence.

History

The style was central to jungle’s early identity through producers and MCs who stitched dancehall culture directly into rave breakbeats. Shy FX, Rebel MC/Congo Natty, M-Beat, General Levy, Remarc, and later revivalists kept this vibrant, bass-heavy branch alive.
