It can sound like minimal psytrance slowed down for a black room, or like techno with triplet runs and psychedelic leads. History
Psy-techno grew as progressive psy, minimal techno, and darker festival techno started sharing DJs, labels, and production tools. IbogaTech, Alula Tunes, Techgnosis, Horns And Hoofs, Subios, and related outlets provided a home for Ectima, Freedom Fighters, Luis M, MVMB, Tim Taste, Trilingo, Allaby, Cybered, Hedustma, Maksim Dark, and others. The style also helped create space for techno artists to use psytrance textures without moving all the way into 145-BPM psytrance.
