Psy Dub
Located in 2 routes
Psy Dub blends psychedelic trance culture with dub bass, slow breakbeats, global percussion, liquid delay, and cosmic ambient detail. It is slower and deeper than psytrance, heavier and more echo-driven than plain psybient, and more festival/ritual-coded than classic ambient dub. The sound is built for sunrise stages, hammock zones, and long-form psychedelic listening.
History
Psy dub came from Goa/psytrance chillout rooms, Twisted Records, Simon Posford's extended universe, and the downtempo side of festival culture. Hallucinogen in Dub, Ott, Shpongle, Younger Brother, Kaya Project, Entheogenic, Bluetech, Globular, Dub Trees, Desert Dwellers, Kaminanda, Kuba, Kalya Scintilla, and Banco de Gaia became recurring reference points. The style later flourished through Bandcamp, psybient portals, transformational festivals, and live-hybrid downtempo acts.
