Pop Future House is future house optimized for singers, radio hooks, and streaming playlists. It keeps the bouncy chord stabs, sidechain pulse, and clipped future-house drop, but the song structure is more pop-facing than the DJ-tool side of the genre. Compared with Future Bounce, it is smoother and more vocal; compared with Slap House, it is brighter and less low-slung. It was one of the main ways EDM entered mid-2010s pop radio.

History

Oliver Heldens' "Gecko (Overdrive)" helped establish future house as a radio-friendly sound, while Tchami, Don Diablo, Pep & Rash, Lucas & Steve, Sigala, Jonas Blue, and Spinnin'/Hexagon-linked producers turned the style into a pop-house lane. Tracks such as "Promesses," "On My Mind," "Rumors," and "Summer on You" showed how future house could work with clean vocals and short arrangements. By 2018, some of that audience migrated toward slap house, tropical house, and streaming-friendly dance-pop.
