The label-house aesthetic: conceptual, hyper-commercial pop that exaggerates chart tropes into uncanny parody-tribute. Brilliant high-gloss mixes, helium leads, ringtone synths, faux-corporate sheen and a knowing wink, treating mainstream pop as raw material to be heightened, satirized and sincerely loved all at once.

History

Built around A. G. Cook's London label PC Music (founded 2013), the lane defined a whole approach via SOPHIE, Hannah Diamond, Danny L Harle and the PC Music compilations. Cook's executive-producer work for Charli XCX (Pop 2, Charli) pushed the aesthetic outward; the label wound down in 2023, but its glossy-uncanny template now saturates pop.
