Neo Rave is the 2020s revival of rave pressure through hard techno, trance stabs, gabber references, hardstyle kicks, internet irony, and festival-speed club music. It is less historically purist than old-school rave and more visually online, often mixing Y2K references, warehouse techno, pop edits, and extreme drops. The sound is fast, maximal, and deliberately overstimulated.

History

Neo rave grew as younger club scenes rediscovered 1990s rave, hard trance, gabber, Eurodance, and hard techno during the 2020s. Brutalismus 3000, I Hate Models, Sara Landry, 999999999, VTSS, Kobosil, Alignment, Shlømo, horsegiirL, TDJ, Creeds, and Partiboi69 represent different sides of the wave. It overlaps with the hard-techno boom, TikTok rave clips, festival industrial techno, and playful post-genre club culture.
