History
Ella Jenkins and Smithsonian Folkways made multicultural children's listening part of American educational music, while José-Luis Orozco, Suni Paz, Asheba, Daria, Dan Zanes and Putumayo Kids expanded family access to Spanish-language, Caribbean, African, Latin American and global repertoires. The field has grown more careful over time, moving from generic "world" presentation toward credited artists, source communities and more respectful context.
