Minimal groove is the groove pocket stripped to the studs: clean drums, bulbous bass, micro-edits, and almost comically effective spacing. Compared with broader deep tech, it is usually drier, tighter, and more obsessed with swing calibration.
History
The term reflects a 2020s refinement of modern minimal/deep-tech and post-microhouse sensibilities, especially in Amsterdam, London, and Ibiza circuits. Artists such as Chris Stussy, Kolter, Toman, M-High, Rossi, and Julian Fijma push tracks that feel simple on paper but devastating on calibrated club systems.
