Melodic House is warm, emotionally open house music with soft kicks, rounded basslines, airy pads, piano or plucked-synth motifs, and patient breakdowns. It usually sits around 118–124 BPM, less aggressive than melodic techno and more songlike than deep progressive house, with a sunset-to-nightfall mood that works in clubs, festivals, and headphone playlists.

History

The style grew from deep house, progressive house, tech-house, and Balearic traditions, gaining clear identity through labels and ecosystems such as Anjunadeep, This Never Happened, All Day I Dream, and Purified. Lane 8, Ben Böhmer, Yotto, Tinlicker, Nora En Pure, Luttrell, Le Youth, and Sultan + Shepard refined a sound that emphasized emotional melody without trance's peak-time urgency. It became one of the dominant streaming-era club styles because it preserved DJ utility while offering the intimacy of indie electronic and singer-songwriter atmosphere.
