Liquid Drum & Bass

Liquid drum & bass favors lush pads, jazz- or soul-derived harmony, rolling but unobtrusive drums, and low-end that glides rather than attacks. It usually still sits at full DnB speed, but the mood is graceful, melancholic, or intimate rather than hostile.
History
The style developed from atmospheric DnB and more musical late-1990s strands, then became a major current through labels like Hospital and artists such as Calibre, Logistics, LSB, BCee, and SpectraSoul. It remains one of the genre’s most durable forms because it can satisfy dancers, headphone listeners, and heartbreak specialists simultaneously.
