Kids-TV Music is music made for live-action, puppet, preschool and educational television. It includes theme songs, lesson songs, transition cues, character songs and recurring musical routines. The sound is usually friendly and functional: clear words, memorable hooks, emotional reassurance and enough repetition for daily viewing. Unlike standalone children's albums, these songs are built to live inside episodes and characters.

History

Mister Rogers, Sesame Street and The Muppet Show established television as a musical learning space, while Barney, Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer, The Wiggles, Yo Gabba Gabba!, Daniel Tiger and many PBS/Nickelodeon/Disney preschool shows extended the tradition. Streaming did not erase the format; it made favorite TV songs endlessly replayable, turning episode music into family playlists and classroom tools.
