Jersey Trap
Located in 1 route
Jersey Trap is the point where Jersey club's bed-squeak kicks, triplet chops, and call-and-response bounce meet EDM trap's 808 drops and festival synths. It is faster and more syncopated than standard trap, but heavier and more drop-oriented than classic Newark/Jersey club. The style often uses chopped R&B or rap vocals, kick patterns built for dancers, and trap-style bass hits that make club edits work on EDM stages.
History
Jersey Trap emerged as Newark/Jersey club producers and EDM-trap DJs began trading rhythms in the mid-2010s. DJ Sliink, UNIIQU3, Nadus, R3LL, DJ Tameil, DJ Jayhood, Trippy Turtle, 4B, Hoodboi, and Rickyxsan helped carry Jersey patterns into wider bass, trap, and club-music circuits. The sound also fed Jersey drill, TikTok club edits, and global club music, but its core remains the tension between local dance rhythm and big-room trap impact.
