Jersey Drill
Located in 1 route
Jersey Drill fuses Jersey club's bounce pattern with drill rap's sliding 808s, street cadences, darker keys, and clipped vocal hooks. It is more rap-forward than standard Jersey club and less linear than New York drill, because the kick pattern keeps dancers moving even when the lyrics and basslines are aggressive. The sound works as street rap, TikTok dance fuel, and club music at once.
History
Jersey Drill grew as Newark and New Jersey rappers and producers put local club rhythms under drill flows and viral dance hooks. Bandmanrill became the central early star, while MCVertt, DJ Lil Taj, DJ Smallz 732, DJ Swill B, 2Rare, Sha EK, and Lil Uzi Vert's "Just Wanna Rock" helped make the pattern nationally visible. The style also overlaps with Philly party rap, New York drill, and TikTok club, making it one of the clearest 2020s examples of regional club music feeding mainstream rap.
