Italo Dance
Located in 1 route
Italo Dance is the late-1990s/2000s Italian dance-pop branch built from melodic synth riffs, rolling basslines, robotic hooks, sentimental vocals, and bright club arrangements. It is more digital and trance-touched than classic Italo disco, but more playful and hook-centered than mainstream trance. Many records feel both bittersweet and cartoon-clean.
History
Italo Dance grew from Italo disco, Eurodance, dream house, and Italian commercial club labels. Gigi D'Agostino, Eiffel 65, Prezioso, Gabry Ponte, Molella, Paps'n'Skar, Roberto Molinaro, DJ Lhasa, Brothers, Magic Box, Danijay, and Bloom 06 shaped the core sound. Eiffel 65 and Gigi D'Agostino made the style internationally visible, while Italian radio and compilation culture kept a large domestic scene active.
