Sits between college-radio indie and garage punk, trading 2000s retro polish for ragged, young, blog-era immediacy.
History
Grew out of the late-2000s blog and cassette underground as Burger Records, bandcamp and house-show circuits gave young garage bands a network. Acts like Parquet Courts, FIDLAR and Twin Peaks fused 60s garage and slacker indie into the 2010s' defining lo-budget guitar sound, played at festivals and dive bars alike.
