Indie songwriting fused with home-built electronics: warm analog synths, drum machines, sampled loops and effected vocals. Less club-driven than mainstream electropop, it keeps a handmade, slightly imperfect feel—glitchy textures, blippy hooks, hazy harmonies—pairing pop melody with the experimental palette of an indie producer working largely alone.

History

Brooklyn's blog-rock years (2007-12) bred synth-leaning indie acts—MGMT, Passion Pit, Phoenix—who swapped guitars for vintage keyboards and laptops. Chillwave and Grimes' DIY electronics widened the field, while Sweden's CHVRCHES brought crisp synth-pop into the indie sphere, cementing a lane where pop hooks ride lo-fi-tinged, self-produced electronic beds.
