Hybrid Trap
Located in 2 routes
Hybrid Trap blends EDM trap's 808s, snare rolls, and hip-hop cadence with dubstep-style drops, festival sound design, and bass-music aggression. It often moves in 70/140 or 75/150 BPM feels, using brass stabs, detuned leads, distorted basses, and dramatic build-drop architecture.
History
The style emerged during the early-2010s trap explosion when producers from dubstep, electro-house, and hip-hop scenes converged on 808-heavy festival tracks. RL Grime, Flosstradamus, Baauer, What So Not, UZ, TroyBoi, NGHTMRE, SLANDER, Boombox Cartel, and Yellow Claw defined different lanes from cinematic trap to maximal bass drops. Hybrid Trap influenced festival trap, future bass, bass trap, trapstep, and later hardwave, while giving bass-music DJs a bridge between rap energy and dubstep impact.
