History
House began in Chicago clubs after disco's mainstream decline, but it quickly became a transatlantic and global form. Early Chicago records established the machine groove; New York and New Jersey developed gospel-rich garage and deep vocal approaches; Detroit, London, Paris, Ibiza and Berlin each pushed the sound into new contexts. House repeatedly crossed into pop through diva anthems, French touch, EDM and remix culture.
