Healing-Intention New Age
Located in 1 route
New age composed and marketed with a specific therapeutic goal — stress reduction, energy balancing, reiki, chakra work or general "healing" — using slow, consonant, drone-anchored textures, tuned frequencies, soft flute and pad, and often nature sound or subtle entrainment tones. Melodic movement is minimal and unresolved so nothing agitates, and pieces run long to accompany a treatment. Its identity rests on intention and functional context as much as on any distinct sonic signature.
History
The healing-intention lane was seeded by Steven Halpern, who from Spectrum Suite (1975) framed his tuned, rubato music as a tool for relaxation and well-being, and by the Osho-scene meditators Deuter and Anugama whose records were made for practice. Reiki, chakra and energy-work culture drove demand through the 1990s and 2000s, with Deuter's Reiki - Hands of Light, Karunesh's chakra works and UK healing-music specialists like Llewellyn supplying dedicated catalogs. Halpern later added measurable brainwave-entrainment (Deep Alpha). The style now saturates spa, wellness and streaming "healing" playlists.
