Hard Trance

Hard trance raises the pressure: pounding kicks, hoover or acid riffs, rave stabs, and higher-energy phrasing than standard trance. It lives around 138–145 BPM and feels like trance after several espressos and a disagreement with subtlety.
History
The style flourished across Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, sharing DNA with hard house, acid trance, and early hardstyle. Acts such as Scot Project, Dumonde, Kai Tracid, Cosmic Gate’s early material, and Yoji Biomehanika turned it into a peak-time staple whose revival energy still powers modern rave-oriented scenes.
