Guided Meditation Bed
Located in 1 route
Guided Meditation Bed is supporting audio placed under a speaking voice, so it must be harmonically stable, spectrally soft, and rhythmically unobtrusive. The ideal bed fills silence without competing for attention, leaving room in the midrange for speech and allowing pauses to breathe.
History
Older self-help tapes and therapy recordings already used this format, but apps and podcast-like meditation delivery made it a major production discipline in its own right. Composers learned to write around narration instead of around traditional musical form, using long pad swells, unresolved but calm harmonies, light piano droplets, and very restrained development; the result is less a “song” than an acoustic floor that quietly holds the structure of spoken practice.
