History
Seeded by Stephen Wiley's 'Bible Break' (1985), gospel rap matured with S.F.C.'s 'Phase III' (1992) and Compton's Gospel Gangstaz, whose 'I Can See Clearly Now' (1999) earned a Grammy nomination. Philadelphia's Cross Movement built a theologically focused catalog and label, training the next generation of holy hip-hop artists.
