Goa Ambient
Located in 1 route
Goa Ambient is the chillout-room companion to Goa trance: slow psychedelic pads, tabla and didgeridoo colors, 303 traces, dub delay, cosmic samples, and long-form sunrise calm. It is more specifically tied to Goa trance culture than general ambient and more mystical than lounge downtempo. The sound works as decompression after fast psytrance while still keeping the melodic, ritual, and cosmic DNA of the main floor.
History
Goa ambient grew from beach parties, chillout tents, UK psychedelic labels, and ambient-dub rooms where DJs needed music for before and after trance peaks. The Infinity Project, Shpongle, Celtic Cross, Banco de Gaia, Total Eclipse, Astralasia, Solar Quest, Man With No Name, Entheogenic, Bluetech, Asura, Aes Dana, Carbon Based Lifeforms, and Kaya Project all shaped the zone. Its vocabulary later blended into psychill, psydub, yoga downtempo, and festival medicine-music electronics.
