Ghettotech is Detroit's high-speed collision of electro, techno, Miami bass, booty rap, and ghetto-house attitude. History
Ghettotech developed in Detroit as local DJs blended 2 Live Crew and Miami bass records with accelerated techno, electro, and booty-house tracks. DJ Assault, Mr. De', DJ Godfather, DJ Nasty, DJ Dick, DJ Funk, DJ Deeon, DJ Bone, Detroit Grand Pubahs, and Disco D became central names through labels such as Databass, Electrofunk, Twilight 76, and Intuit-Solar. The style later influenced electro revival, juke/footwork, Bmore/Jersey crossover, and European techno producers looking for raw, fast club energy.
