G-House, short for gangster house, combines house grooves with rap vocals, West Coast or Southern hip-hop attitude, heavy basslines, and stripped club arrangement. It is not just house with a rap feature; the whole record leans into swagger, low-end menace, and chopped vocal commands. G-House overlaps with dark bass house and tech house, but its identity comes from hip-hop posture meeting house rhythm in a DJ-friendly frame.

History

Amine Edge & DANCE helped popularize the term in the early 2010s, while Shiba San's "Okay" and Destructo's hip-hop-linked house records made the sound visible in North America. Tchami, Malaa, Wax Motif, Dr. Fresch, BIJOU, AC Slater, and Night Bass/Confession-related artists carried G-house energy into bass house and festival club sets. By the late 2010s, its influence had blurred into mainstream tech house and bass house, but the rap-house swagger remained recognizable.
