History
Rooted in Blue Cheer's 1968 wall of distortion, fuzz rock resurfaced as a distinct modern tag through California's garage-psych scene. Ty Segall and Charles Moothart's band Fuzz (formed ~2011-2013) made the pedal the genre's name and ethos, openly channeling Blue Cheer, Groundhogs and proto-metal. Bandmate Chad Ubovich's Meatbodies and L.A.'s Wand carried the saturated retro template onward.
