History
Leftover Salmon, formed 1989 in Crested Butte, Colorado, pioneered 'jamgrass' by fusing bluegrass with rock and Cajun feel. The String Cheese Incident (1993) brought it to big festivals, while New Jersey's Railroad Earth and Colorado's Yonder Mountain String Band expanded the acoustic improv vocabulary across the 2000s newgrass-meets-jam circuit.
