Experimental hip-hop pushes rap into noise, industrial texture, extreme collage, strange meters, or structural disobedience. The point is not simply to sound weird; it is to discover new pressure points inside rap's form.

History

Earlier abstract and indie rap prepared the ground, but acts such as Death Grips, clipping., Shabazz Palaces, JPEGMAFIA, Dälek, and Danny Brown made the lane unmistakable in the 2010s. Its influence now shows up far beyond the niche, especially in internet production, extreme textures, and performance aesthetics.
