Euro Rave is the continental European rave-pop lane: massive stabs, techno kicks, hoover sounds, shouted hooks, trancey riffs, and chart-friendly intensity. It is more synthetic and four-on-the-floor than UK breakbeat hardcore, but less polished than later Eurodance. The sound often feels like a warehouse anthem squeezed into a radio single.
History
Euro Rave came from Belgian, Dutch, German, and pan-European producers who translated acid house, techno, and new beat into huge anthems. T99, L.A. Style, Human Resource, U96, Praga Khan, Quadrophonia, Interactive, Dune, Scooter, Marusha, WestBam, and 2 Unlimited shaped the canon. It helped connect rave to mainstream European television and charts while also feeding harder styles such as hardcore techno, gabber, hard trance, and hands-up.
