Electronic Country is the widest umbrella for country records built with obvious digital production: loop-based percussion, programmed textures, synth bass, and pop editing alongside country voices or themes. It may or may not lean toward rap or EDM; the organizing trait is electronic studio language.

History

As Nashville production modernized, electronic arrangements stopped being special effects and became normal tools. This let artists from Sam Hunt to Kane Brown to playlist-era crossovers approach country as a flexible top line over modern pop production, enlarging the genre's commercial vocabulary even as purists grumbled into the void.
