History
Drill and trap were always cousins - Chicago drill descended partly from Waka Flocka and Gucci Mane - but the explicit hybrid sharpened as Brooklyn drill went mainstream. Fivio Foreign's 'Big Drip' remix added Quavo and Lil Baby, his Kanye-cosigned Donda run and 'City of Gods' fused drill drums with trap melody and arena scale.
