History
Built with producer Noah '40' Shebib on So Far Gone (2009) and Take Care (2011), Drake's blend of rapping and singing became the template a wave of artists - PartyNextDoor, Tory Lanez, Bryson Tiller and beyond - openly traced. The 'Drake lane' became shorthand for the melancholic, melody-forward rap-singing that ruled radio through the 2010s.
