History
Surfaced in the mid-'70s as rock acts embraced disco's beat, peaking 1977-1980 when the Rolling Stones' 'Miss You,' Rod Stewart's 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?' and KISS's 'I Was Made for Lovin' You' topped charts. The 1979 'Disco Demolition' backlash curbed it, though its rock-meets-club formula resurfaced in later dance-rock.
