History
Grew in the late 1990s as affordable DAWs and samplers let acts build rock entirely from programming. UK groups like Hybrid and Junkie XL fused breakbeats and guitars, while Pitchshifter wired drum'n'bass into metal. In the 2000s Celldweller and BT's rock-leaning work pushed micro-edited, digitally welded songcraft into film, games and electronic-rock crossover.
