Deep Tech is a darker, deeper strain of tech-house with warm subs, clean low-end movement, clipped drums, and understated chord or vocal detail. It usually sits around 123–127 BPM, balancing deep house atmosphere with tech-house drive and leaving enough space for bass and percussion to do the storytelling.

History

Deep Tech formed as deep house's late-2000s revival crossed with London and European tech-house, producing music that was less soulful than classic deep house and less abrasive than techno. Artists such as Maya Jane Coles, Dusky, Hot Since 82, Audiojack, Dennis Cruz, PAWSA, and later ANOTR connected underground house sophistication to modern club impact. It influenced rolling tech house, UK minimal/deep tech, and the smoother side of Ibiza tech-house.
