Dark Bass House
Located in 1 route
Dark Bass House is bass house with a shadowed palette: minor-key hooks, sparse drums, distorted bass stabs, G-house menace, and a more warehouse-oriented mood than festival bass house. It often overlaps with Tchami and Malaa's Confession world, Drezo's stripped electro-house pressure, and Dustycloud or Matroda's heavier club tracks. The style keeps the bass-house drop but removes some of the cartoon brightness, aiming for tension, restraint, and darker dance-floor swagger.
History
Tchami's future-house movement created a cleaner frame for bass-heavy house, and Malaa, Drezo, Dustycloud, Matroda, Shiba San, Mercer, and Confession/Night Bass-adjacent artists pushed that frame into darker territory. Records such as "Notorious" and "Prophecy" used hip-hop/G-house attitude and metallic bass design, while Drezo and Dustycloud made darker club edits feel closer to electro and techno. The lane helped bass house survive after its festival novelty cooled.
